My name is Michael Kitticai, stage name Kitticai (Key-tee-cuh-E). I’m from Nairobi, Kenya, raised in Kangemi aka Ungem. I’ve always had the music bug in me since I was a kid. I used to sing along to Usher’s Confessions, Michael Jackson, Nameless, Ogopa Deejays and all that. But I never really made music until 2024 when I wrote Magyaldem (Issa Problem) and Forever featuring Maggie Kay. I do Gengetone, Afrobeat, Dancehall, Swa RNB, basically whatever I vibe with. I’m not tied down to one sound.
What inspired me to do music? Money, women, fame haha joking… or am I? But for real, it’s a bug I’ve always had. Music moves me. It gets into the deepest parts of me more than any other form of communication. It’s timeless, it influences people more than any drug, I wanna be part of that influence.
So far, Forever with Maggie Kay has been one of my favorite collabs. My latest single is Bidhaa, a party vibe track with that old school Genge and Gengetone energy. Listen to Bidhaa here. Ranjes On The Beat produced it. Kobby and TWGT also produced Forever. I’ve mainly been writing and working closely with these guys to shape the sound. I think performance might be my strong point, but to be honest, I’m still figuring that out.
Right now, I’m working on more singles to drop before the year ends. I’ll think about EPs and albums once I’ve built a solid fanbase. The music I’m making now is about good times and party vibes. Short term goal, get a hit song. Long term, I want to make real money from this industry haha. Most of all, I want people to listen, have a good time, and engage with me online.
